Turkcell tracks network energy consumption with TTG’s SYNERGY™ OSOS module.

NEWS

27.12.2021

TTG launched OSOS (Remote Power Meter Reading) module on its SYNERGY™ platform. The module is part of TTG’s smart energy management suite, SYNERGY™, and it was developed by TTG engineers to help Telcos tracking network energy consumption.

SYNERGY™ OSOS can split total energy consumption into telecom equipment and cooling parts where one power meter is installed only for cooling hardware. This feature enables Telcos to monitor PUE (Power Usage Efficiency) on base station level rather than large capacity locations so that cooling systems can be optimized on micro level. Now, telecom operators have the chance to set efficiency targets for micro sites to optimize energy OPEX.

The system queries and fetches all information from nearly 2.000 power meters every 15 minutes.

  • Load Profile on Active, Capacitive and Inductive basis
  • Active Energy Consumption on Single/Multiple Time Tariffs
  • Reactive Energy Consumption
  • Maximum Demand
  • Phase Current and Voltage Values
  • Maximum and Minimum Measurement Time
  • First and Last Reading dates

All information is stored in a database for further analysis. The database has the flexibility to accept data from different meter models/brands where OBIS information is matched in another table before inserted into the database. SYNERGY™ dashboard presents power consumption split (cooling only or total site consumption) on regional/city basis in accordance with user privileges.

An e-mail server is also set up to enable SYNERGY™ OSOS to send early warning reports to regional teams. These reports allow Telcos to prevent energy OPEX loss such as avoiding reactive power fines and preventing electricity theft incidents.
